The town of Boonton’s unique characteristics of puddingstone walls and beautiful rapids of the Rockaway River created the backdrop of the town. This was the setting where Duane Conn grew up and developed his love of photography.

Born in Boonton Township (then called Powerville),
New Jersey there were always subjects to photograph! Early in Duane’s career, he was a newspaper photographer for the New Jersey News until he had his own photography studio on Union Street in the heart of Boonton.

In the later years, Duane was a graphic arts supervisor for Radio Frequency Laboratories in Boonton Township. After retirement he still could be found with camera in hand or working on one of his many paintings. Love, respect and a never ending sense of humor was Duane Conn. His photographs live on in this book.

A small town with a photographic history.
